In this way, the Geviert opens up to us. How does Alyosha accept the Geviert without \u201caccepting his world\u201d \u2013 one of the arms of the Geviert itself?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Fourfold truth of sky, gods, men, and earth\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Contrasts western Christian tradition of the threefold truths of father, son, and holy spirit (the Holy Trinity)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u201cI do not rebel against my God, I simply \u2018do not accept his world\u2019\u201d (Dostoevsky 362)\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Alyosha\u2019s ownership of God as \u201cmy God\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Grounded in God\u2019s organization, but denial of His plan\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Alyosha cannot believe the reaction to Zosima\u2019s death<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Lack of acceptance to Zosima\u2019s death paralleling Alyosha\u2019s lack of acceptance in&nbsp; the goodness of men&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Alyosha accepts food and drink, exhibiting rebelliousness\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Friends as couriers of evildoing or sinning<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The sky and the world as two separate entities\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Sky: the world as cosmos, order, and natural organization<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Earth: the place of being for men, our known existence in space<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em>Being<\/em> without knowing\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u201c&#8230;through its existence in the terror of absolute loneliness, at the outmost distance from all <em>beings<\/em>, in the experience of the abyss\u2013it is then that we will encounter the entire <em>Fourfold<\/em> simultaneously, it is then that it reveals itself to us.\u201d (Dugin 196)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Geviert is not a physically map, but something that exists to be revealed to us\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Similar to God\u2019s plan as being unknown, but understood to us over time (western Christian tradition)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Men can <em>be<\/em> (state of naturally existence), but still not be opened to the fourfold truths<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Alyosha is distracted, warn out, and can be influence in his current state\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>What role does Grunshenka play?\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Freedom from god\u2019s world<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Attraction to another being<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Zosima was Alyosha\u2019s moral beacon through relational identity\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Student \u2013 teacher relationship<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Abandonment of moral sturdiness by Alyosha<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In loneliness, Alyosha should have the entire fourfold truths revealed to him\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Why is his reaction to rebel?\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Internal struggle and alternative desires<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Brothers Karamazov, Book 7, Chapter 2 page 362 Martin Heidegger, Part 2.1 page 197 Discussion Question for both:&nbsp; In the Geviert, man recognizes the fourfold truths (sky, gods, men, and earth) without actually being.
